About Me

Sylvie is new to teaching English, and recently completed a Bachelor of Arts in sociology and a TESL certificate at Thompson Rivers University. She has experience teaching ESL remotely and is skilled at simulating a classroom experience in the online learning format. Sylvie has previous teaching experience in sports—she has been teaching ice skating to children and adults for six years and has taught physical education programs in her local school district. Sylvie’s teaching philosophy is that learning is an individual process nurtured by positive social interaction. She strives to be a welcoming and enthusiastic teacher who supports the development of every student.
